Beautiful views Photo submitted by dahoffman on 05/30/2013
Great Fun
When I played only 12 holes were open due to winter recovery. The staff was awesome. I played brand new clubs and the pro upgraded my driver to what i play at home. I was able to play 24 holes of golf. There are several challenging and fun holes to play. The first time I played number 10 from member tees. Par 3 110 yards down hill. The second time I played it from the blue tees. It is an awesome view from up there 197 yards straight down hill. Great fun!
Vail golf
I would definitely play the course again. There are several holes I would play differently now that I played the course. My only issue was the aerated greens. I made several calls prior to booking my tee time and no one mentioned the greens were aerated. Other than that, the course was fun.
Great layout, tough greens
I played this course on an absolutely beautiful day. The layout is really interesting, particularly on the back nine. Lots of downhill shots that are confusing due to the altitude and lots of turns that can get you in truble. The greens were, in my opinion, quite fast and had a lot of break in them, so as a first time player I had way too many 3 putts but overall I really enjoyed playing here. I think that once you play it several times and understand the layout better it will become one of your favorite courses.
A very good experience
This course was in excellent condition; really good. A public course, with heavy volume of play!
EagleVail is a mountain course, with several elevated tee boxes with spectacular views. Go back to the pro tee on ten. There are several tight holes, demanding very precise play. The course winds through a residential area, with lots of nets up , and cart governors to slow them down in several areas. Amenities and staff were fine.
Lots of Tricky Traps
Beautiful course layout. Found myself in traps frequently. Balls just seemed to roll right in. Must play again with better course management.
A Hidden Gem
This is a great course and an excellent value. Very scenic holes, none of which are even similar. I’m a 13 handicap, and I found the course very challenging. But, even if you don’t have your A game, it’s a blast to play. You’ll leave shaking your head.
Eagle Vail!
Great golf course with stunning views. For me, it's all about the greens rolling smooth. You can definitely roll the rock on these things. Very pure.
Perfect day of golf
With all the option to play golf in the Vail Valley, we choose EagleVail.
I had the oportunity to previously play Beaver Creek, and while we considered The town of Vail, off to Eagle Vail we went.
Inside personnel
One "know it all" inside Chief was VERY RUDE to my wife.
My wife called before we left our condo and asked if she and friend could rent another cart and just ride and watch. The person answering phone said "sure". When we arrived, the answer was a RUDE NO!! from the "Chief".
"A perfect example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing"
I will NOT recommend this course to any of my MGA {240} friends.
Dingdong Bell
18 holes in less than 4 hours.
Course is in great shape.
Fast greens and challenging layout
The greens are fast and true where you did not want a downhill putt. The Eagle River meanders through many holes. Each hole has its unique features making every hole a new adventure. A couple of great elevated tee boxes. The staff could be more engaging and friendly. The course condition were very nice.
Great scenery
This is a fun course to play with lots of elevation changes and great scenery. It’s in good condition other than a couple of greens which have sand topping on them. I play this course once a year when I come here.
Eagle Vail's a Good Track
EV is a wonderful layout through the valley and up into the canyons. The greens and fairways were in pretty good condition for a mountain course in June. Pace of play was really slow and there was no ranger moving the slower players along. They need to manage the pace of play better or I won't return.
