Thorncreek Golf Club
About
The golf course at Thorncreek Golf Club is a public, 18-hole course in the city of Thornton. The course features 7,268 yards of golf from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Designed by Finger Dye Spann, Inc., the course has a links-style layout. A unique aspect of the course is that a street separates the front nine holes from the back nine. Lakes that are situated on the course create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. Thorncreek Golf Club's signature hole is the par-4, 18th hole, which has a fairway with a water hazard along one side.

Very well kep course for the money.
Nice course, but very slow play on the Friday we played it.
Not good
The course was in poor condition. A few tee boxes looked like the markers hadn't been moved for months, hacked to bits, and it's obvious the patrons don't understand how to use sand to fill divots. The greens were full of holes and speed was inconsistent. Worse is they put pins in very difficult spots. Not that a challenge is a bad thing but on a course full of duffers it's a bad idea.
That said it's time to mention to slow play and horrible etiquette displayed by the patrons. Took us nearly an hour to get through 3 holes. Why> Because every single group we saw was playing bad golf from the wrong tees. A group of young men ahead of us couldn't hit the ball 200 yds but were on the back tees. They waited for the group ahead of them to get on the green of a par 5 before they teed off then hit a minimum of 10 shots getting to the green. No ranger on duty and we waited and waited.
We finally passed them only to catch a family. Ever seen a 6 yr old kid playing from the blue tees? You will here. The mother in the group played from the whites hitting 20 yd grounders. We managed to skip a hole and pass them only to catch a twosome walking. This course is too long to walk and not hold people up. Especially when you are playing bad golf. I was there 3.5 hrs and played just 7 holes of golf.
Typical Muni.
great deal $28.00 with cart. Upside layout & greens are great. Downside fairways torn up, very slow play(5 hours), all flags are yellow (tough to see lower yellow flag position), no club washer on carts and intire facility a little beat up. Maybe with different management this could be a great course. As I said typical Muni.
I wouldn't pay full price.
First I showed up booked as a single and payed for my own cart, they wanted me to share a cart with one of the other members of the threesome I joined on, which I have never even been asked to do. Next, I went to the bar to grab a snack and a drink and didnt receive service for about 15 minutes. When I finally got on the course it was in poor condition. The greens were rolling and challenging and near impossible with the inconstancy and how poorly they are maintained. Plan on walking alot because the course is under so much stress you must stay on the cart path most of the time. The course took 5 hours to play with people in front of us at a slow pace and it backed up well. No marshal to be found to correct the problem. This course definitely needs work,
The course was a great value and was in good shape.
The pace of play was fast and we moved around the course without any issues.
Fun Course, Great Condition
Everything here is in great condition! Due to recent rain sand traps were not soft, other than that the entire course was in great shape and fun to play.
Go for lunch NOT golf
Basically if not for a nice beer cart girl and a good lunch there would be no reason to play here. This course is definitely in the worst shape of any course Ive played in Denver. You have to hit it in the rough to have any grass to hit off of but thats if you can evefn find your ball in the rough. The greens are pretty good but thats about it. And to top it off the guy at the proshop acted like we were criminals for not making a teetime and just walking in. (I usually use Golfnow but we all got off work early and just went for it) We didn't expect any special treatment and could have waited up to an hour but they werent busy and he still gave us the run around. Worst service I've had in a proshop. So with that said I can find somewhere else with good fairways and nicer people other than the beer girl!
challenging for 15+handicap
Fun course. Challenging and yet enjoyable. I will return as this was my first time, now that I know the course, to play a few shots differently.
Tough pin placements today
Course is in fairly good shape..Some fairways still need some work, but most of the greens were in real good shape. Only one green was pretty beat up. I think it was hole 13
Needs some work around the greens; worth it's cheap value
Thorncreek has it's ups and downs. It is extremely narrow and is fairly unforgiving, making it a moderately challenging course. For the most part the course was taken care of, greens were in average shape while around the greens and on the tee box could use some work. Probably won't be back, though with golfnow we got a rate of $20 for a 1:20 tee time, the price was really the only positive of the day.
Semi-long course with large, undulating greens.
Friendly staff, greens and tees were good to very good condition. (greens could have been a little faster for my taste) some of the fairways could use a little more attention. I would call them fair to good. Pace of play was very good. Overall value is very good. I will be back.
Great course for the money, well maintained. Greens were in great shape.
I had a 0654 tee time. The pace was good. Course was in excellent shape. Drink and food excellent in restaurant.
nice course for the money
I am playing this course at least once a year, for a change. Not the best grass conditions on the fairways but not the worse.
Course is great, but it's in horrible shape. Tons of weeds and bald spots on the fairway and even in the first cut of rough.
Course needs serious greens keeper help, will be a great course when they give the fairways some attention and water, sod, etc.
Slow play fairways rough
Pace of play was very slow. The recommended time for a round was 4:35. They need to drop that to 4:00. Then we played in 5 hours. No ranger. We as a foursome waited on every tee box and every fairway. Way too slow.
The fairways were in vey bad shape. They are working on them but have a long way to go! merely rolling the ball in the fairway is no enough often a move of more than 5 feet was necessary to get a decent lie.
Great course especially for the price. If you are looking for a challenging course this is it.

great course
Great deal! Had Fun Cart girl was very personable great asset to the course
Decent municipal course.
Most of the fairways had very wet, sloppy spots; they need better drainage. Otherwise, it was worth the $24.
