Green Valley Ranch Golf Club
About
Along with a nine-hole, par-3 course, Green Valley Ranch Golf Club also offers an 18-hole championship length course. Designed by Perry Dye, the course is 7,241 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course is a short distance south of the Denver International Airport and downtown Denver is easily accessible. The course is challenging and also scenic; it is not a rare occurrence to see wildlife such as deer on the course. Dye successfully incorporated the natural landscape of the area. The natural creeks and wetlands as well as the beautiful cottonwood trees were kept in tact. The course has received several honors from widely read golf magazines such as Golf Digest and Golf Week.

Enjoying the course... Photo submitted by Williamsed on 11/10/2012
Pace of play five hours
Third and last time I will play here. I come in from out of town and get a round in with my son. Each time it took five hours. Cannot do this anymore.
Fun and Challenging
I enjoyed the free range balls and practice greens. While the greens had been recently aerated everything was in pretty good shape.
Great Place
Very organized scheduling, check-in, and starting. Nice practice area with practice balls included in round price. Extremely friendly, professional staff. I was a single so they moved my time back slightly to hok me up with a twosome. Golf course was in good shape after having been punched two weeks prior. An excellent experience!
SLOW play today
Course was in good shape. Greens were a little rough from a recent aeration, but basically o.k. However, the speed of play was terrible. 5+ hrs, and that was with a couple of groups ahead of us quitting. I say a ranger on the front 9, but he obviously fix what was wrong. Never saw him again. Nobody wants to be out there for 5 hrs. Management needs to step things up. DO YOUR JOB!
challenging course
Overall the course is a fun course. For medium to good golfers. Very easy to lose balls if you hit off the fairways. Unfortunately the greens had just been plugged for fall. So made putting not so true. Beware on last 4 holes especially in the late p.m. alot of mosquitos. Bring your bug spray. All in all green valley ranch is a good golf experiance for the money.
Review for 09202014
A little over watered, but in great shape. Dunes type course in housing community. GPS with carts, but a little annoying as it often reminded you that you were responsible for damage to surrounding houses. Just south of DIA.
shenanigans
Always some sort of shenanigans at GVR. The group I was paired with didn't want to play with a better player so I was bumped to the group in front. Turns out it was a good thing, we finished seven holes ahead of them. Course was in good shape but greens need to be rolled. Probably rolling eight on the stimpmeter. Very slow greens!
Exceptional!
Overall, a great design that stands on its own merits in the Denver region. Tough but fair greens, strategic bunkering, generous fairways, always in fantastic condition. Exceptional clubhouse/staff and a nice practice facility make for a fun experience every time!
Good course with some challenges
We enjoyed the course. The rough grass was high and troublesome but most of the holes were well maintained. Rain caused some squishy areas. Par 5s challenging but the par 3s are as well.
Try it you won't be disappointed!!
Great place to play
The course is incredibly well maintained for a public track. Great greens and a challenging layout makes this one of my favorite in the area.
Great Day!
The course was in fantastic shape, we played in under 4 hours and had a great lunch afterword with great service. Great job top to bottom
A must for any Colorado Golfer
I had never played Green Valley Ranch (GVR), but it was in my top 5 to play here in Denver. I found a great deal through Golf Now and decided to take it and run! A round of golf during the peak season at GVR will run you between $45-52 for 18, without a cart (and additional $18 per rider) or range balls. I found a deal for $42, which included the cart, 18 holes, and range balls. The facility is Immaculate!! The course is in excellent condition as the greens were rolling quick but true, and the fairways and rough were perfectly manicured. The staff at GVR were mostly friendly, especially the starter and bar and grill staff!. I only have two complaints: 1. The overall feel of GVR is definitely upper class as most people were older and mostly likely retired. This resulted in a feeling of alienation, as I received many "you're the punk kid" looks. However, the man I was paired with was very friendly and helpful around the course. 2. The course needs a map or directional signs! There are a few (#1 and #10 tee directional signs) but there are two large club house looking buildings with no markers as to which is the actual clubhouse. Only after I followed someone into the clubhouse did I realize which was the clubhouse, with other being an event venue. Overall, GVR is a great course and value for the money! This is must if you are in the GVR area and are looking for a great round of golf with picturesque views and challenging golf!
A Must Play
This is a magnificent facility. They have one of if not the best public ranges in the Metro area. The course is demanding but fair. The best value for the money on GolfNow in Denver.
Excellent course for the money
Beautiful course, I played it right after the Colorado State open with the same tees and pin placements and it was very challenging but not impossible. The course was in immaculate condition, the rough around the greens was at least 3-4 inches, so it was very penal if you missed the greens. Wish I had time to play it once more, but ran out of time.
Awesome track
The course was really nice. The course conditions were immaculate, due the open tournament being held there the rest of the week. Played In the afternoon and it was hot. A few water containers were empty. Which should be looked at. The last 2 holes were killers.
Great day!
I loved this course. The staff, course and facilities are some of the best I've seen in Colorado. The course has some grip it and rip it holes. Some target golf, and a few work the ball holes. Tee boxes to accommodate all levels of play. This is a great place to play golf.
Course is beautiful
The greens are very fast and I believe they are getting ready for the Colorado open so it makes the course that much more challenging and nice. Great course
Great layout.
Course is in excellent overall condition. It looks like a few greens are still recovering from some winter kill, but coming along. Fairways and first cut rough in great shape. At the GolfNow rate of $35 with cart and range balls, it was a smoking deal.
Among the best at their price level
Green Valley is worth the drive to get there. The course plays more difficult than the slope indicates and demands accuracy to keep the ball in play. Anywhere off the fairway and you're in trouble. The course is in great shape.
The staff is very friendly and the club amenities are better than most other Denver area clubs for comparable green fees.
Great to be back
Last time I played was 10 years ago. Moved away but will definitely play again when I return. Great shape and test of golf
