July 27-28, 1999 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The team of Rick DeWitt of West Woods Golf Club and Michael Glaesel of Indian Tree Golf Course successfully defended their 1998 title in this year's CGA Four-Ball Championship at Pine Creek Golf Course. They took the Open Division by four strokes after combining for a brilliant 66 on the final day. Mark Hirsch of Meadow Hills Golf Course and Michael Harrington of Gleneagle Golf Club teamed up for a total score of 138 to secure second place. David Delich of the Broadmoor Golf Club and Rick George of Castle Pines Golf Club fired an even 140 to take third by one stroke over the fourth and fifth place finishers, whose positions were determined by a playoff. The team of Charlie Frnka and Brian Richmeier of Meadow Hills Golf Course earned fourth place, and Barry Hogg of Patty Jewett Golf Course and Mark Coppolella of the Country Club of Colorado placed fifth. Jerry Kidney and Les Mattocks of Overland Park Golf Course, last year's Senior Division champions, also successfully defended their title. By combining for a total of 137, they earned a two-stroke victory over three teams who tied at 139 for second place. Jim Pierce and Jim Voigt of Pinery Country Club earned second place in a playoff over CGA Executive Director Warren Simmons of the Country Club at Castle Pines and Patrick Mooney of Meridian Golf Club (third), and Jim Brown and Dave Richardson of Fox Hill Country Club (fourth).
