Muskoka
Golf
The name Muskoka immediately conjures up the romance of a rustic
getaway, a vacation in cottage country, a retreat to the tranquility
of nature. With its cool green forests, crystal lakes and sunny
summer weather, Muskoka has been a favorite destination for more
than a century, and it has lost none of its appeal. The spectacular
resort golf courses tucked away in this legendary recreational area
add much to that appeal, and Muskoka has become a premier golf destination.

Two stunning courses are the centerpiece at this full facility
luxury resort, which was one of Muskoka’s earliest resorts
opened in 1896. Deerhurst is ranked number two by Score magazine
in the “Best Golf Resort” category for good reason.
The demanding Deerhurst Highlands championship course is from architects
Robert Cupp and Thomas McBroom. Carved from the rugged hills and
dense forest, it presents the golfer with hazards of all types.
The Deerhurst Lakeside is a par 65 design by Thomas McBroom, offering
a gentler layout and enjoyable play for golfers at all levels. Both

The Mark O’Meara Course at Grandview Golf Club opened in
May 2001, signifying the debut of the PGA Tour star in golf course
design. The 1998 Masters and British Open Champion wanted the first
O’Meara design to be on a beautiful piece of property, and
he has made outstanding use of the natural setting. The course sprawls
across spectacularly beautiful, rugged terrain with stands of trees,
elevation changes and bold granite outcroppings. The wilderness
flavor of the course contrasts with the wide fairways, shallow bunkers
and gently sloping greens that make this new course both challenging
and highly playable. Grandview Golf Club is proud to host the 2002
Telus Skins Game presented by Ericssen. Grandview Golf Club is a
property of The Glen Abbey Trail.

The shot calls for a high fade. You select a nine iron. Thh…wack!
Only a golf ball perfectly struck makes that happy sound. The ball
lands above the pin and spins back to within four feet. You are
one with the universe. Taboo,Muskoka region’s newest 18-hole
course opens Canada Day Weekend. Designed so that it would be compared
to the truly great courses of the world, Taboo is both challenging
and spectacularly beautiful. In the words of architect, Ron Garl,
