The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks
About
The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks is touted as the best mountain golf course in Colorado and even one of the best courses in the country. Towering forests of pine and aspen frame the rolling fairways and manicured greens on this scenic layout. The crystal clear creeks and trout-filled lakes are a striking contrast to the lush green of the course and the snow-capped peaks in the distance. The golf course is known for more than its scenery though, its challenging design is a test for all skill levels. The steep-faced bunkers have deeply furrowed edges, which can be tricky but they also serve to contain tee shots that might have an increased carry because of the course's dramatic elevations. There are also water hazards to contend with on several holes.

Nice views
Course was very nice and in a convenient location.. The person in the pro shop was extremely rude! My wife wanted to ride with me and I was told the day before that there wouldn’t be a fee. We didn’t have a problem with paying a rider fee, but $55 was ridiculous on top of the golf fee. So instead of reducing the fee I was in a cart by myself. That makes no sense. His rudeness was just totally unnecessary and caused me to not purchase a thing there. No shirt, no food not even a water.
Beautiful course, but overpriced
Raven Club at Three Peaks is one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever played. With that said, the pricing in the $200-$240 range is double what this course should be charging given the conditions. I found many of the tee boxes to be chipped up. The greens were ok but inconsistent in speed and condition depending on the hole. The fairways were in excellent shape, but after the first cut of rough it became very patchy. My other complaint is the overall pace of play and seeming inability of the ranger to keep play moving along, leading to a five-hour round. There are other courses in the region in much better condition that charge significantly less. I'm glad I played but won't be back until the greens fees better match the conditions of the course. I can play TPC courses for less money.
Updated Course
The course shows the positive results of all the work done over the last two years. Still a drainage issue on #7 after heavy rains. Most of the greens have recovered after the spring damage from a few years ago. All the sand traps have been redone and are in great shape. Outstanding views of the Blue River valley. Don’t be surprised if a moose, elk or mule deer wanders by or watches you hit your shot.
Worst 200 dollar course I’ve ever played would not recommend this course to anyone!
This is a must play
I have written a longer review on Google reviews but for this site I will be a bit more concise. The pro shop, staff and head pro were all top notch and very accommodating. (Saw the beverage cart three times!)
The golf experience was one of the best I have had this season. This course was in great condition The greens and bunkers (yes I hit bunkers) were fair and true. The sand was especially impressive. I would say this mountain course is one of the best maintained I have seen Iin years. The course is challenging for low and high handicappers, perhaps the 0-5ers might find it a bit short, but that’s not a problem for me
As for value and would I play it again…the walk up rate is on the upper end but not out of range for quality mountain golf courses. And you can occasionally Get some good online rates. Would I play it again and recommend to fellow golfers….Absolutely!!!! Give it a round and I bet your will want to play it again!!! Thank You The Raven at Three Peaks, you gave me a great golf round and memory
Terrible
Terrible experience. Tried cancelling a couple of times either no answer from Raven nor Golfnow. They charged the complete foursome and had zero flexibility for refunds. Beware of golfnow
New Sand Traps
The greens and fairways are in much better shape than the last two seasons. Most of the traps have been redone and are in great shape. Very striking with the white sand. Still working on a few more.
Groups of 5 and 6 abound
We waited pretty much all round long for a party of six ahead of us. We called the clubhouse twice and got no relief even though they told us they would come out there. Ranger Was a no show after two phone calls. we finally quit playing on hole number 11 and as we rode back we saw three or four other parties of five or six. Afterwards, the general manager said he had very limited options to resolve our issue and basically said “deal with it“. I would not recommend this course to anyone. Add to it that it was $200 a round which was our most expensive course in Colorado that we played.
trip
Course was slow getting us off, about a 45 minute delay but the starter was great in engaging the groups and showing patience. They are working on a few traps, but the rest of the course in great condition. Beer a little pricey at 8 bucks a can. Other than that, nice course..
Not the bang for a lot of bucks!
The course condition was at best average, especially for mid summer. The course was extremely challenging but many shots were all risks with little reward. The fees were definitely not worth the course and they clipped me for $35.00 just so my wife could ride along. Will not be back! Eagle Vail much better and less expensive.
Too much of a good thing
This course is gorgeous. Staff and members we met could not have been nicer. The course is very difficult to play. My husband is a 13 handicap and it was unreasonable for him. As a women they absolutely do not give us the advantage we need to compete on this course. I was so discouraged by the time we made the turn I really regretted spending $150 to play this course. Its too good for the average golfer. Wish it was a course we could enjoy but its not. Appreciate being allowed to play on sucha beautiful course but it was too tough for us.
Monsoon
Went to the course in a total downpour. Returned carts filled the lot. Asked if they were shutting down play but they said the course would remain open. Said they couldn’t issue rainchecks as we paid GolfNow directly. GolfNow stated in their email that course needs to close for weather related refunds. Our choice then was to play or lose or money. We played the first nine under threatening skys, and had just started the back when it started to rain. It increased until by hole 14 it was a total downpour. We were completely drenched by finish. Also, the gate was over the cart path heading back to the clubhouse. So we were obviously not even recognized as being still on the course!!! Buyer beware!
