The Barn gets its name from a big white barn that has been converted to the lounge. In fact the course used to be named The White Barn. The course is fairly flat as it was built on farmland. The holes make good use of many mature trees and several ponds. But, the most penal hazard consists of the cow pastures outside of the boundary fences.

One very unique feature of this course is that there are zero sand bunkers. To compensate for the missing greenside obstacle the grass is usually maintained as long rough in front of and around the greens. For a good short game day practice plenty of short chips from long rough before heading out.

The Barn is a great place for groups composed of golfers of different ability levels. It's short and forgiving enough for the high handicapper but risk/rewarding enough for better golfers.

There are a surprising number of memorable holes. The second hole is a short dog leg around a pond. A lay up is the safe play but it's rumored that big hitters can drive the green.

The third hole was recently nominated as one of the top par 5s in the area. A long drive will allow a risky shot at the green in two. It must be straight enough to avoid the fence to the left, high enough to clear a group of tall trees and long enough to carry a pond guarding the green. Number 9 is a very reachable par 5. But be careful off the tee as a drive of over 220 yards will end up in the water.

Green fees are less than $20. The Pro Shop staff is very helpful and there is a snack bar and a full service lounge. Be sure to stop in the lounge to watch golf on the big screen after your round.

Okay course

Very good value for the money. There food staff could be friendlier. My friend called on 8 trying to order a burger and they told him they didn't have any, when we made the turn they were making burger. Course was in good shape for early season, greens were quick. Overall a good experience and will go back.
