Tale of two 9's
The front 9 (I'm assuming the newer 9) was tricky. A handful of blind tee shots, mounding that kicks your ball into trouble if your shot treads the treeline, and undulating greens made it a real challenge. You have to think your way around this side as oftentimes you can't just rip driver and need to be able to shape your shots if you want to score well. You also better keep your ball below the hole on these smallish greens or else you'll probably have some 3-putts. The back 9 was a more friendly, traditional layout. The fairways were tight in places, but generally speaking, its all laid out in front of you. This is a nice course with nice scenery, but I think you'd need to play it a few times before really getting a true feel and appreciation for it, especially the front 9. The staff was friendly and conditions were quite good after a hot, dry summer. I'd say give it a chance if you're in the area. (I shot 46-36 and I'm a 6 handicap)
