Forgiving course that provides a few challenges
This is the course I typically played. The course is old and the fairways are narrow, but most fairways run next to another fairway. The rough between fairways is mostly open, so shooting from another fairway is generally forgiving. The course is mostly flat, though there are a few blind shots. There are few hazards (1 pond, 3 creeks) but mostly you will deal with bunkers and an occasional trap. There are not an over abundance of them so most approach shots, especially for beginners are quite forgiving.
The greens and fairways were, and generally are in great shape, especially for it being a muni course and the amount of play they see. Unlike some other muni courses in the areas, ball marks on the greens were not a major issue. Fairways do tend to have some monster divots, though the maintenance crew appear to stay on top of it for the most part.
The course has a large volume of rounds played every year. Tee times are at a premium because of the course's location to houses and businesses and the fact that it only has 18 holes, but even with this I can typically walk a full round in about 3 hours. Very rarely have I run into longer rounds. The marshalls do a good job at keeping the pace moving.
