Plum Creek Golf & Country Club in Castle Rock is a Pete Dye design that boasts some of the best holes in Colorado. Plum Creek is a former TPC course that is both challenging and scenic. Surrounded by mountains, the course itself has a hilly terrain with dramatic changes in elevation. Golfers will be hard-pressed to find a flat lie on this layout. Dye incorporated his signature railroad ties, most notably on the par-3 12th, which has 10,000 ties surrounding the green. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout and water hazards make an appearance on a few holes as well but the ever-changing elevations provide the bulk of the course's challenges. Locals who are regulars on the course tout the final three holes as being the toughest in Colorado.
