Eagle Trace Golf Club
About
The course at Eagle Trace Golf Club is one of several in Colorado that were designed by architect Richard Phelps. Views of the Rockies and splendid Cottonwoods sprinkled across the course make it an enjoyable game. Five lakes and over sixty bunkers add some challenging elements to the course. Located in Broomfield, the golf course is 6,529 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. Eagle Trace Golf Club also offers teeboxes specifically made for children. They also have a junior golf program for kids under 10.

fun course for the price
nothing to special but a very fun course for the money.
Eagle Trace
I have played this course several times, today the course was very busy, supposed to tee off at 2:30 and actual tee time was 3:00, according to the starter it was because of a 30 minute frost delay. Several greens had hoof like holes on them, perhaps caused by a deer. Overall it was a good value.
Simple but decent, awful greens this winter
The greens have gashes in them, holes are on sidehill lies like putt-putt courses, and are generally terrible. The course is a good one for beginners, easy to walk, and actually pleasant in a lot of ways. I really hope that by summer it doesn't resemble what I saw yesterday.
Lady in the bar/clubhouse (why is she doing both?) wasn't friendly and a drink cost $7.50...
First Round of the Year
For a January round of golf, it was great! Conditions were good all around and no crowd to slow us down.
Fantastic Value and a Real Treat
Eagle Trace was a course that I avoided for most of the summer and I do regret that decision. Course played extremely well from the tips with some very challenging holes. I probably avoided it as the yardage is average for a CO course but it makes up for it with suberp design especially the back 9. Do yourself a favor by booking a Golfnow tee time Hotdeals and let the good times roll on the course's great greens which are in excellent condition for this time of year!
Nice layout
Too many leaves on the fairways and greens. Difficult finding direction from one hole to the next for a new person to this course.
Also GPS directions to course takes you a back way which is chained off from entering.
Course in great shape for being late in the golf season
The course was in exceptional shape, albeit due to the amount of rain we got over the past month. I was expecting a course that usually looks roughed up this time of year, but was in great shape. The greens were still receptive (though they did have some pitch marks that people didn't repair) and the rough looked like what it was at the beginning of the summer (thick and fair). The course was super green, and the fairways were still in tip top shape. I have been impressed with how they have kept this course up all year long and will be back again soon. Overall, great value (A+) and a great course (A).
Worth a second look
I had played Eagle Trace in prior years and been disappointed in the course's condition. However upon playing it in the beginning of October I was impressed with what shape it was in. No doubt the August and September rains we've had have contributed to this. In fact the rough was a little too long for my taste making it hard to find balls hit into the rough. One strong downside still is the condition of the traps. The ones I saw were more clay than sand. If that were remedied and the rest maintained as is this would be a course well worth playing on a regular basis.
Great course!
This course is beautiful. Good elevation change, lots of well placed bunkers, several water holes. This course will challenge you, and for the price on GN it is a great deal. It is a littlw way out of Denver, but it is worth it!
Fun course to play in a laid back and friendly atmosphere.
Greens, fairways and tee boxes were pristine unlike the rough which was deep, thick and lush probably due to all the rain we got in the area.
Good course, good value for what it costs.
Nice Layout
We were behind a couple with a kid (approx 4 or 5 years old), the kid was running around on the greens and screaming. In front of them was a foursome who played extremely slow. After hole 10 we hurried up and went to 13 and finished, then went back to 11 and 12. After 12, we drove the cart back around to 16 (before you cross the road to 17 and 18 and the foursome was finishing 16. So we finished 2 holes in front of them even though we were 2 holes behind them.
Also - there wasn't but about a 1/4" of sand in the sand traps.
Shot 79, how bad could it be...
Greens were recently aerated, which, was a surprise. I mean, who does that in August, and top that off, who does that right before Labor Day Weekend???
Anyway, typical muni course, in typical Eagle Trace shape. Not bad, greens still a little fuzzy coming off the maintenance. Other than that, which is standard maintenance other than timing, we had a fantastic time.
Poor staff (marshall and snack/beer cart)
I would not recommend this course as the greens were in poor shape and the staff was extremely unfriendly.
This was a great course, can't say anything bad about it.
With the rain we have had this summer, it has been a boon to this course. Greens were challenging and it was a friendly envirionment and everything was great. It was worth the deal Golf Now put out. I will definitely play it again.
Fun bunt not the best. Keep your expectations within reason.
Greens had lots of dead spots but the overall layout of the course made up for it in the end. Fun holes from front to back made for a great day on the course. There was a lot of construction going on which makes me hope that they are putting a lot of effort to make this course better.
very average course
Would probably only recommend to someone if looking for last minute tee times, or if you get a good deal on it. The course really could use some TLC.. also bring a GPS because the course is not marked real well, but they do give you a yardage book but not the easiest one to figure things out from...
Speedy round for a great price
10:52 tee time and we were done in just under 4 hours. That was delightful. There were 3-4 greens that were rough as they looked like they were still recovering from winter kill but all the rest were smooth. The course was decently maintained. The layout of the course is not the best as it looks like they tried to cram 18 holes into a piece of land that can only hold 12-13 holes. Great deal on Golfnow made this a 4-star rating for me.
This course layout is awfull.
Greens need serious attention. The score cards are cute.
Greens need some TLC
Nice Older course, enjoyable, not a killer. The greens need some TLC, getting bad spots on most of them. we had to leave after 4 hrs to catch a flight, barely got through 16 holes on a Sunday.
DO NOT waste your money
This place was bad. No one in the pro shop, had to go to the bar to get someone to check us in...then the ball machine was broke and it took 20MINS for someone to come give us our bucket of balls (same lady who wasn't at pro shop). Then there is the course. The greens were chewed up really bad. It looked like no one had moved the cup in a week. The grass was fine in some spots but a lot of bare ground where there should be grass. There were also no discernible women's tees. Had a women been playing I am unsure how they would have been able to keep up. Most hole the longest to the shortest tee was less than 15 yards. This course was a huge waste of money. How could they charge $57 with a cart? The other course in the area are much better than this course. I urge everyone to not waste your money
