Riverdale Dunes
About
Riverdale Golf Courses offers two 18-hole, municipal golf courses. The Dunes course at the facility is slightly larger than its sister course, offering 7,067 yards of golf from its longest tees with a par of 72. Opened in 1985, the aptly named Dunes Course plays through many undulating mounds. Perry Dye designed the Scottish-links-type layout, equipping it with challenging elements to make the game interesting. Water hazards come into play on several holes and the terrain is quite hilly. Tall native grasses that make up the rough of the golf course also present challenges for golfers.

Outstanding Value, Great Course
This is one of my favorite courses in the Metro Denver area, and you'll have a hard time finding a better deal. I paid $43 for twilight 18 on a weekend, including cart.
The Dunes is always in wonderful shape with plenty of intriguing and challenging holes. While the course is wide open, the rough is punishing and there's a lot of water (i.e., bring extra balls). There's not a single house on the course, which is a pleasant surprise. It is crowded, but that's to be expected when it's a great deal.
Best Public Course Value in Denver Metro
Riverdale Dunes is a classic Pete Dye course that with some holes that remind me of TPC Sawgrass! Walkable, almost always in pristine condition, challenging yet fair, no two holes are alike. Greens are fast and true. Range and practice area is second to none; staff must be well trained on customer service because they are always proactive and friendly and personable for sure. Fairly close proximity to Denver airport and north Denver Metro. The Knolls is a nice complement to the Dunes.
They have done it again!
Wow .. Top crew, top shape. True greens, perfect fairways and dreamy tee boxes... Course is in perfect shape!
Best course in Colorado
Pace of play was great... Course conditions are PERFECT!! Friendly and professional staff, challenging layout, great food, beautiful beverage cart girls, what a great golf experience! This course does things right, thanks Riverdale!
Pete Dye at his best
Riverdale Dunes is a true Pete Dye design. Water on 11 of the 18 holes! The greens are in excellent shape; rolling smooth and true. A relatively flat course...great for walkers. While there is water on most holes, there aren't long carries over water, making it playable for all levels.
You won't be blown away by the vistas, but the course is so elegantly laid-out, the hole in front of you is enough to keep your attention.
Classic Dye, with hidden bunkers and lots of false front greens...aim for the center of the green and worry about the pin later...you will shoot better!
Dunes is a Deal
Dunes is extremely unassuming at arrival. First time playing...high rough, difficult pin placements, and several tough stretches make this a great test. Looking forward to playing it again soon. Greens had just been punched but were okay for only having a week to recover.
Play the Dunes --- You won't regret it!!!
We play this course every week and it's consistently in great shape. Even though they try to push a 2 hour/9 hole pace, it's usually closer to 4 1/2 hours after 18 holes. Most golfers need to consider moving up a box on this course even though it's on the short side. It requires accuracy or you'll be loosing a lot of balls or spending a lot of time looking for balls in the tall native which is usually unplayable. Lots and lots of snakes too!!
For the money best course in Denver
Great golf course greens are perfect as well as the fairways and the rough is waist high so you can forget about finding your ball.
