Cottonwood/Silo at West Woods Golf Club
About
The Cottonwood/Silo Course is one of three nine-hole, public courses at West Woods Golf Club. All three are combined to form different 18-hole combinations that change every day, providing a variety of different options for golfers. The Cottonwood/Silo course is the second largest course at the facility, covering 6,761 yards from its longest tees. Situated on the course are 10 beautiful lakes that form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. To add more interest to the game, the medium-sized greens are severely sloped and there are sand bunkers as well. The West Woods courses offer an affordable game with several different playing options.

Great views
I love Arvada and this course let's you see the great views from Arvada
Slow pace for tee time
Slow pace for 745 tee time. Challenging course.
After the snow!
Everyone stayed home! Had this great layout to myself. Would have helped my score to know the layout, but first time on the Indian and Cottonwood courses was a pleasure. Course was in great shape despite wet conditions due to weekend snow. And deep rough! Views were spectacular and grounds staff were very personable. Can you open up your pond to catch and release bass fishing?
Please don't play here--I want the course all to myself
This is a fabulous course of 27 holes. The best 18 are the Silo and the Cottonwood nines.
I really hesitated telling anyone about how great this course is, because I want to keep it all to myself.
Nice day at West Woods
Played Sleeping Indian 9 holes on what may be the last nice afternoon of the year. The course was in good shape, but the tee markers are ball washers have been removed for the winter. Three groups were backed up because of somewhat slow play by the group in front of us. It was 2:30 for 9 holes. Without delays, I can play 9 on this course in 1:30.
silo was a challenge
I've played Westwoods for many years. All the courses are challenging, with many risk rewards. The elevated tee boxes have great views of both the City and the mountains! With four sets of tee boxes, it doesn't matter if your a beginner or an expert you'll find a box for you. Staff was very friendly, and helpful. I've always had a great golf experience at Westwoods! I would recommend this course to anyone.
A Nice Treat with some Variety
This is a nice course with a good variety. The staff was quite friendly. The Sleeping Indian 9 is perhaps longer but the park-style is more forgiving. Going from #4 to #5 was less than clear on my 1st time. #6 is quite picturesque. The greens are trickier than they appear. Cottonwood requires more course strategy. #12 penalizes rightward misses. Winds from the west can add to the challenge. Enjoy this nice course. I look forward to trying the Silo 9.
great course
course in good condition did not wait on a single shot on a saturday
Great course
Great, fun course. Paired with friendly guys. No complaints. In good condition.
Very nice
Would recommend course for cost and condition. Pro shop lacks a little Customer service (Typical Pro shop guys).
Slow play
No starter, led to wrong pairings.. Don't think I'll play here again.
Fun course
This course has a lot of fun holes and change in elevation.
A terrific golf facility
First time @ West Woods. Played Cottonwood/Silo. Several blind holes slowed us down. The Silo hole (#23) takes 3 good shots & #24 (cross water twice) is equally as challenging. Enjoyed it and will be back!
Good value for your dollar
Overall course condition is great right now (played 7/5.) Greens are well kept and roll true. Plenty of challenging holes but not too overpowering. Stay out of the rough, you will get frustrated if you play your ball from there all round. Friendly staff, great views!
Slow
So slow. It was a Saturday. But when we pulled up to the 10th tee to start the back 9, there were 4 groups of foursomes waiting. Four! 52 minutes later I was able to play. Pretty ridiculous. Greens were in fabulous shape.
Westwoods
I play about three rounds a week. The greens are phenomenal. The course is always challenging you have to use every club in your bag. Other courses do not look this nice. You cannot beat the course for the money
Mhaze
Course was in great shape, but greens were air raided recently
Nice course - Cottonwood / Silo
Played the Cottonwood / Silo courses. Both very nice. The Silo hole is too trick to be fun. And, way too difficult to walk. Otherwise the courses are walkable.
Challenging
Cottonwood course is tight with a lot of water and the Silo opens up a little bit.
Great layout and condition
The course was in decent shape and greening up nicely for beginning of spring. Lots of fairway bunkers to catch your drive, nice combination of tight and forgiving fairways. Played the Indian and Cottonwood 9's so I can't comment on the Silo 9. Enjoyable course with a challenging layout that rewards accurate shots. Accuracy trumps aggressive approach from tee to green. Clubhouse probably due for some updating but nice atmosphere none the less.
